CTOnews.com, Nov. 5 (Xinhua)-- Apple is setting up a live television advertising network to provide streaming services for major league football (Major League Soccer, abbreviation: MLS) games, Bloomberg reported. Apple has agreed to expand its advertising as part of its deal with MLS.

CTOnews.com learned that Apple announced a 10-year partnership with Major League Football in June and that all games will be streamed through the Apple TV app from 2023. Apple is now discussing ads to be shown in competitions and related programs with advertising partners and MLS sponsors.

All three Apple TV subscription levels will have ads, including dedicated packages, paid TV + subscriptions, and free TV apps.

Live TV ads are part of Apple's aggressive push for advertising, Bloomberg said. Apple recently added new ads to App Store Today tags and individual app pages because it chose some types of ads to display, a move that was unpopular with developers.

Apple is also working on a plan to add search ads to Apple's mapping app on iPhone next year, which will be displayed when users search for content. According to Bloomberg, Apple is also exploring advertising for other apps and services.

Currently, Apple's advertising business generates about $4 billion (29.24 billion yuan) a year, but the company aims to push it to at least $10 billion (73.1 billion yuan) a year.
