CTOnews.com, Nov. 5 (Reuters)-Volkswagen said on Friday that after Elon Musk acquired Twitter, it had advised its brands to suspend paid advertising on the social media platform until further notice.

CTOnews.com learned that Volkswagen Group owns Volkswagen, Skoda, Jetta, Audi, Lamborghini, Bentley, Porsche, Ducati, Scania, Mann and other brands.

"We are closely monitoring the situation and will decide what to do next in the light of developments," Europe's largest carmaker said in a statement. " Volkswagen's comments are similar to those of other companies such as General Motors and General Mills.

On October 28th General Motors, America's largest carmaker, said it had temporarily suspended paid advertising on Twitter after Elon Musk completed its acquisition of Twitter. Since then, more and more brands have suspended advertising on Twitter, including food company General Mills, Oreo maker Mondelez International, Pfizer and Audi, a unit of Volkswagen.
