Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
CTOnews.com, November 6 (Xinhua)-- with the update of iOS 16.2 and iPadOS 16.2 Beta beta, Apple is integrating the Apple News section to enhance the weather app. The Apple News module is located at the bottom of the 10-day forecast on iPhone, with relevant regional news emerging.
In Raleigh, for example, the app shows news about Atlantic hurricanes; in San Diego, news about the fire season. The content varies from location to location. Clicking on the news displayed in the Weather app will open the Apple News app.
Not all cities display news stories at any time, and it seems that when there is a weather warning at the top of the app, such as rain or bad weather warning, the news module will also be removed. It is not clear whether weather-related warnings are limited to selected cities or are displayed only when relevant information is available. So far, the feature seems to be available only in the United States.
CTOnews.com learned that Apple seems to have introduced a new weather app module on the server side, but it only appears on devices running iOS 16.2 and iPadOS 16.2, indicating a new feature to be added in the Beta beta update.
"Apple iOS 16.2 / iPadOS 16.2 developer preview release of Beta: added boundless App, front dispatch external display support, unexpected emergency SOS call report."
