ARM: the output value of automotive semiconductors is expected to reach $100 billion in 2026.

CTOnews.com news on November 6, according to Taiwan's Economic Daily, Deng Zhiwei, senior director of automotive marketing in ARM Asia Pacific, recently said that the output value of automotive semiconductors is about $50 billion (about 360 billion yuan) this year, and is expected to reach $100 billion (about 720 billion yuan) in 2026.

Deng Zhiwei also said that although the automotive semiconductor market is currently smaller than the mobile phone market, the future market will be very considerable.

CTOnews.com learned that global semiconductor manufacturers'8-inch fab capacity is expected to increase by 20 per cent between 2021 and 2025, according to the International Semiconductor Industry Association (SEMI). Between 2021 and 2025, automotive and power semiconductor fab capacity will lead by 58 per cent growth, according to SEMI.

In addition, SEMI expects production capacity of 300mm Fab, a global semiconductor manufacturer, to grow at a compound annual growth rate of nearly 10 per cent (CAGR) from 2022 to 2025, reaching an all-time high of 9.2 million tablets a month. Strong demand for automotive semiconductors and new government funding and incentive programs in several regions are the main growth factors.
