CTOnews.com november 10 news, according to forbes china official website, today "forbes" released 2022 mainland china rich list. The total wealth of those on the list fell 39% to $907.1 billion from $1.48 trillion last year, the biggest drop in more than 20 years since Forbes surveyed China's richest people.

CTOnews.com learned that of the 100 people on this year's list, 79 saw their wealth decline, 12 returned to the list, four split their wealth, three made the list for the first time, and only two saw their wealth increase.

Nongfu Spring Chairman Zhong Yanzhan still ranks first this year. Compared with other rich people who have experienced a plunge in wealth, Zhong's wealth has been more stable, falling only 5 per cent from $65.9 billion a year ago to $62.3 billion. In addition to supplying drinking water, a necessity, a successful investment in Beijing Wantai Biological Co., Ltd., a supplier of nucleic acid testing products, has also helped Zhong's wealth avoid sharp fluctuations.

Zhang Yiming, founder of ByteDance, remained second on the list, with a fortune of $49.5 billion, down $9.9 billion from last year, while Zeng Yuqun, chairman of Ningde Times, the world's largest electric car battery maker, remained third, with a fortune of $28.9 billion, down 43 per cent from $50.8 billion last year.

BYD founder Wang Chuanfu and non-executive director Lu Xiangyang ranked 11th and 18th with wealth of $17.7 billion and $12.7 billion respectively. The company overtook Tesla this year to become the world's largest electric car manufacturer.

Jin Baofang, founder of Jingao Solar Energy, and Gao Jifan, founder of Tianhe Solar Energy, are the only two on the list to achieve wealth growth. Thanks to the booming global solar product market, Jin Baofang's wealth increased by 16% on the basis of 8.95 billion US dollars last year, ranking 23rd with 10.4 billion US dollars; Gao Jifan ranked 40th this year, and his wealth increased slightly from 7.16 billion US dollars last year to 7.3 billion US dollars.

The electronics and internet industry's rich have had a poor year. Xiaomi founder Lei Jun ranked 37th this year, with his wealth falling more than 50 per cent from $17.9 billion last year to $7.6 billion due to weak global demand; Jingdong chairman Liu Qiangdong ranked 32nd this year, with his wealth falling to $8.3 billion from $17.6 billion last year.

The past year has also been tough for property tycoons. The biggest drop in wealth was 69th Country Garden co-chairman Yang Huiyan, whose wealth fell to $4.91 billion from $27.8 billion a year ago. Many real estate tycoons are not on the list this time, including Ji Haipeng, founder and chairman of Longguang Group, and Xu Jiayin, founder of China Evergrande, who is in deep trouble.
