According to Bloomberg, Apple has hired startup founder and former Facebook executive Timothy Campos Campos to head the information systems division, which has seen a number of departures, according to Bloomberg.

Campos will be the new head of the information systems and technology department, which focuses on the infrastructure behind Apple's online services, customer support and website. Apple calls this unit the "nerve hub" because it connects employees, suppliers and customers. The information systems and technology department reports directly to Luca Maestri, Apple's CFO.

The current CIO in the information systems and technology department is Mary Mary Demby, who is retiring. David Smoli, Denby's deputy and vice president of software engineering, is also retiring.

Campos served as chief information officer at Facebook from 2010 to 2016, and before that he served as chief information officer at semiconductor company KLA. Not long ago, Campos co-founded Woven, a company that developed Calendar App, which was acquired by Slack last year and later by Salesforce.

Campos said in the LinkedIn profile that he was ready to start a new adventure. Smoli jumped from AstraZeneca to Apple in 2019.

There has been some turmoil at the top of Apple recently, with some key executives leaving. In addition to Denby and Smoli, the chief privacy officer, vice president of industrial design and online retail store executives also left.
