Sources say Samsung moved Partron out of Galaxy Z Fold5 / Flip5 camera supply chain
CTOnews.com, November 14, according to foreign media TheElec, Samsung has moved Partron out of the camera module supply chain of Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Fold5 phones to be launched next year. Partron is the main supplier of Galaxy Z Fold4 camera modules launched in early August this year.
For next year's Galaxy Z Flip5, Samsung will use Mcnex, Samsung Motor and Cammsys as suppliers of front cameras, the source said. For Galaxy Z Fold5, Samsung will also use these three companies as the main supplier, while Shunyu Optics will be the secondary supplier.
Partron is already a second-tier supplier of camera modules to the Galaxy S23 series, which will be launched in a few months, according to sources. Samsung Motor, Powerlogics, Mcnex, Namuga and Sunny Optical are the main suppliers, while Partron is a secondary or tertiary supplier, depending on the module.
▲ Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4CTOnews.com has learned that Partron is also trying to diversify its product portfolio, reducing its reliance on smartphone cameras and expanding into the automotive sector. At present, Partron is still the main supplier of Galaxy A series and Galaxy M series smartphones, and the shipments of these middle and low-end phones account for a high proportion.
