To boost sales, Apple offers up to 10% discount to companies that purchase MacBook Pro in bulk

CTOnews.com, Nov. 15 (Xinhua)-- Apple offers up to 10% discounts on bulk purchases of 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models for small and medium-sized enterprises to boost Mac sales during the holiday season, Bloomberg reported. This is larger than the discount normally offered to companies, which Apple describes as a "very special Mac event".

During an earnings call in October, Apple's chief financial officer, Luca Mestri, said Apple expects Mac revenue to fall "significantly" from a year earlier between October and December.

Mac sales are down because Apple launched a new Mac lineup with 14-and 16-inch MacBook Pro models in 2021. Apple has no plans to update its Mac in the last few months of the year, and nothing will stimulate holiday season sales.

Apple updated its MacBook Air and 13-inch MacBook Pro in June, but 14-and 16-inch MacBook Pro models won't be updated until 2023. Apple also hasn't updated its iMac, Mac mini or Mac Pro this year.

CTOnews.com learned that MacBook Air, which was launched in June, boosted Mac sales in the fourth quarter of 2022, with Mac contributing $11.5 billion in revenue.
