Apple admits that the interaction mechanism of the Beta project is not perfect and does not meet users' expectations.

CTOnews.com, Nov. 16 (Xinhua) Craig Federidge (Craig Federighi), senior vice president of software engineering at Apple, admitted that Apple's Beta project fell short of developers' and users' expectations in terms of interaction and impact. Compared with Microsoft's impressive Windows Insider project, Apple's Beta project lags far behind in collecting user feedback and improving product updates.

CTOnews.com learned that Apple's Beta plan is similar to Microsoft's Windows Insider project, which invites developers and public test users to access the test versions of iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, tvOS and macOS in advance so that they can find problems and feedback problems during the trial process, as well as Apple's subsequent improvements.

Users participating in Apple's Beta program will be given a device profile that allows you to download earlier versions, including iOS 16 and macOS Ventura. Although Beta plans to run throughout the year, the peak period is mainly concentrated in the annual June WWDC launch. After that, Apple's products will be officially released in the fall.

To provide feedback to Apple, users can use the feedback app to fill in any errors or suggestions they encounter. However, the feedback from beta users often does not get a response from Apple.

Federichi admitted:

I admit that the current approach does not bring what most community users want in terms of interaction and impact. We have not yet figured out how to achieve this in a practical and constructive way. We'll keep thinking.
