Microsoft Teams adds support for playing games such as Solitaire and Minesweeper.

CTOnews.com November 16-Microsoft has added a new app called "Games for Work" to Teams, which will enable users to play casual multiplayer games together. Up to 250 people can play Microsoft Solitaire, Minesweeper, IceBreakers and Wordament against each other.

Of course, Solitaire and Minesweeper games are classic Windows games. In the card game, players will face each other head-to-head in the competition, competing for the first place. In the minesweeper game, they will work together to clear the grid, each has a few lives, need to prevent triggering mines.

Wordament is a word game that supports leaderboards so users can see how their grades compare with those of their colleagues. IceBreakers is what it says-users will answer questions about certain topics and perhaps discover more about your colleagues.

Microsoft Teams members work with Microsoft Casual Games, a division of Xbox Game Studios, to develop work-class games. According to Microsoft, the idea is to help colleagues "pause and bounce back" in virtual office environments. CTOnews.com has learned that Microsoft cites data showing that teams who play games together for 45 minutes are 20 percent more productive than those who opt for other types of team-building activities. Microsoft added: "Research shows that games can promote cognitive benefits, help foster empathy, encourage inclusion, team building and learning. "
