Beijing, Nov. 17 (Xinhua)-- Elon Musk, the new boss of Twitter, said on Wednesday that he expects to reduce his working hours on Twitter and eventually find a new leader to run the social media company. He also said he hopes to complete the organizational restructuring of Twitter this week.

Musk made the remarks in a Delaware court on Wednesday, defending his $56 billion salary for Tesla. Tesla investors accused him of being paid at Tesla based on easy-to-achieve performance targets and approved by his compliant board of directors.

"in the early stages of the acquisition, a lot of work needs to be done to restructure the company," Musk said in testimony. "but after that, I expect to reduce my working hours on Twitter." He also admitted that some Tesla engineers were helping to evaluate Twitter's engineering team, but said it was "voluntary" and "after work". Now, investors in Tesla are increasingly worried about the time Mr Musk is taking to reverse Twitter's decline. Tesla's shares fell 3.86 per cent on Wednesday.

In addition, Mr Musk said he had made some Tesla decisions that did not require the consent of the board and refuted allegations that his performance targets were easy to achieve. "this pain cannot be expressed in words," Mr Musk said, describing Tesla's efforts from the brink of bankruptcy to explosive growth in 2017. "I don't want anyone to suffer like this."
