CTOnews.com, Nov. 17 (Xinhua) the Indian government may introduce a law in the near future to force all smartphones, tablets and laptops to be equipped with USB-C ports. Not long ago, the European Union passed a similar law. This means that because of these pressures, Apple will switch to the USB-C port in the iPhone 15 model to be launched next year.

In a government press release, Rohit Kumarsingh, secretary of India's Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, said a number of Indian regulators and private companies had held a meeting a few days ago.

"stakeholders have reached a broad consensus on the use of USB Type-C ports in smartphones, tablets, laptops and other electronic devices," the press release said. "it is also discussed that feature phones can provide multiple charging ports."
