CTOnews.com November 19 news, DSCC CEO, well-known display industry analyst Ross Young recently said that iPhone 14 Plus panel shipments in December close to zero. Apple's overall screen purchases in the iPhone 14 supply chain in 2022 are expected to increase by 10 per cent compared with the iPhone 13 lineup in 2021.

This is mainly due to the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, as previous data show that these two Pro models sell more than two iPhone 13 Pro models. It also led to a rise in the average selling price of the iPhone 14 series, an indicator that Apple relies heavily on when reporting earnings to investors.

CTOnews.com learned that despite a 9 per cent decline in the smartphone market, purchases of iPhone 14 series panels in 2022 were 10 per cent higher than those of iPhone 13 series in 2021. Hybrid ASP for these devices also increased by 10 per cent, with 14 Pro / Pro Max accounting for 64 per cent and 13 Pro / Max accounting for 51 per cent.

It is not surprising that iPhone 14 Plus panel shipments were "close to zero" in December. A previous report said Apple had actually stopped production of the device in order to better adjust production to demand. However, despite lower-than-expected demand, Apple is said to be planning to launch the iPhone 15 Plus next year.
