CTOnews.com, Nov. 19, Epic Games court documents show that Google reached a three-year agreement with Activision Blizzard King (ABK) in January 2020. In the agreement, Google agreed to pay the latter a huge fee of $360 million so that it would not create a competitive app store.
The court document was revealed in Epic Games's lawsuit against Google. Activision Blizzard King's most successful game is Candy Crush Saga, a casual game that is popular with many players around the world.
CTOnews.com learned that in the case against Google, Epic Games believed that Google's Play Store app store had anti-competitive behavior. Epic believes that Google is paying huge fees to prevent ABK from creating competitive app stores.
