CTOnews.com learned that the model has been booked in overseas markets and was officially unveiled at today's 2022 Los Angeles Auto Show.

Earlier this week, Alfa Romeo CEO Jean-Philippe Inpalato told AN Europe that the plug-in hybrid Tonale would reduce the brand's average carbon emissions by 40 per cent.

The automaker said Alfa Romeo plans to launch its first all-electric model in 2024 and abandon fuel cars altogether from 2027. Therefore, this Tonale Plug-In Hybrid Q4 is an important step in their electrification transformation.

Alfa Romeo has not yet confirmed its pricing, but it should be more expensive than a regular hybrid. Foreign media estimate that plug-in Tonale is expected to break the 50000 pounds (about 423000 yuan) mark.
