Nvidia RTX and GTX 16 series graphics cards now support HDR10+ Gaming standard
CTOnews.com, November 19, according to Nvidia's official news, the latest GeForce Game Ready 526.98 WHQL driver brings HDR10+ Gaming standard support for GeForce RTX and GeForce GTX 16 series graphics cards and laptops.
Nvidia said that with the latest NVAPI v2 HDR instructions, developers can add HDR10+, to the game to enable compatible displays to reproduce more accurate colors and brightness in the screen. HDR10+ is particularly useful for screen rendering because this technology supports querying HDR brightness and color information for games and other content directly from the display, enabling dynamic tone mapping for each display to match its HDR function, thus helping to faithfully recreate the artistic intentions of the content creator and continue to bring an excellent HDR experience to GeForce gamers.
HDR10+ Gaming is a royalty-free standard, supported by televisions and HDR game displays released by Samsung in 2022, as well as televisions from Amazon, Panasonic, TCL, Vizio and other manufacturers.
CTOnews.com reported that at the end of last year, Samsung Electronics announced that some 4K and 8K TVs and game monitors in 2022 will support the new HDR10 + Gaming standard to provide players with an immersive HDR gaming experience. Samsung Electronics executive Seokwoo Yong has said that the new HDR10 + Gaming standard will be adopted by Samsung's 2022 Neo QLED series and Q70 and above TV series as well as game displays, allowing users to enjoy the gaming experience through cutting-edge visual effects and richer, lifelike images.
