CTOnews.com, November 20, according to China Shipbuilding Group, November 16, China Shipbuilding Group's Jiangnan Shipbuilding No. 0 ship ushered in the end of the year-- 40000 cubic meters of medium liquefied petroleum gas (MGC) was successfully launched.

According to reports, the ship is the first cooperation between Jiangnan Shipbuilding and Japan's KUMIAI, and it is also the first MGC ship built by Jiangnan Shipbuilding, achieving a "zero" breakthrough in this ship type in China.

CTOnews.com learned that the ship, with a total length of 180m and a width of 30m, is classified into the American Classification Society (ABS) and adopts the concept of "energy saving, environmental protection and intelligence". It is a new medium-sized fully cooled LPG carrier independently developed by Jiangnan Shipbuilding (Panda 40p). The cargo hold of the ship is equipped with three independent fully cooled type A tanks with a total capacity of 40000 cubic meters, which can carry not only liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), but also ammonia, vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) and other petrochemical products.

The liquid tank of the ship is constructed of low temperature carbon manganese steel, which meets the material requirements of loading liquid ammonia; the bow alignment adopts the micro spherical bow independently developed and optimized by Jiangnan shipbuilding, and energy-saving rudder balls are installed, so that the speed and fuel consumption indicators reach the international leading level; the engine room is equipped with dual-fuel main engine and shaft generator to meet the latest emission environmental requirements and meet the low-carbon requirements of EEDI-3. Two 500 cubic meter deck tanks are arranged on the main deck to meet the shipowners' gas supply system and replacement requirements, which greatly improves the market competitiveness of this ship type.
