CTOnews.com, Nov. 21, Sony and Honda formed a joint venture called Sony Honda Mobility in September this year. The company has not yet released the brand name of the product, but they have revealed how it plans to compete with competitors in the electric car market, including the idea of building a car around Sony's already famous entertainment products.

CTOnews.com learned that Izumi Kawanishi, the head of Sony Honda Mobility, said in an interview with the Financial Times that they were planning to build an electric car around music, movies and PlayStation 5. "this is our advantage against Tesla," he said.

Kawanishi, a former head of Sony's artificial intelligence robotics division, also said it was "technically feasible" to include the PS5 platform in their cars.

Yasuhide Mizuno, chairman of Sony Honda Mobility, a former head of Honda, said the company is building its production process around putting content first and will launch its first model in North America by 2025.

"in order to enjoy the space in the car, you have to make it a space where you don't need to drive," Kawanishi said. "the solution is autopilot." But it takes time to develop, the engineer added.
