CTOnews.com, November 21, according to the Taiwan media United Daily News, Micron announced that the LPDDR5X memory has been shipped after Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip was incorporated into the main architecture design.

CTOnews.com learned that Meguiar uses a new generation of process technology on low-power LPDDR5X mobile memory, with a maximum speed of up to 8.5Gb per second. In addition to mobile applications, DRAM products based on 1 β nodes also have the characteristics of low latency, low power consumption and high performance.

Compared with the previous generation of 1 α nodes, 1 β technology can improve energy efficiency by about 15%, memory density by more than 35%, and the capacity of a single bare chip can reach 16Gb. Previously, Meguiar shipped a batch of products based on 1 α (1-alpha) nodes in 2021.

According to reports, the newly launched LPDDR5X is designed for high-end and flagship smartphones. Taiwan media pointed out that Raj Talluri, senior vice president and general manager of the operations department of Micron, said that Micron's highest-speed LPPDR5X has been mass-produced and distributed around the world.

In addition, Ziad Asghar, vice president of product management at Qualcomm, pointed out that high-speed memory is essential to achieve the light-speed Internet access, dynamic experience and epoch-making performance claimed by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Meguiar LPDDR5X memory can reach 8.5Gbps, unprecedented ultra-high speed and energy performance, is able to meet the needs of Qualcomm chipset.
