Raspberry pie CEO and his wife were awarded the title of Honorary Academician by the National computer Museum
CTOnews.com, November 22 (Xinhua)-- Eben Upton, CEO of Raspberry pie, and his wife, Liz Upton, the company's chief marketing officer, have recently been awarded the title of Honorary Academician (honorary fellowships) by the National computer Museum for their contributions to computer science.
CTOnews.com learned that the museum, headquartered in Bletchley Park, was the center of national cryptography efforts during World War II and where Alan Alan Turing helped invent the first programmable electronic digital computer (Colossus). The museum displays some important computers since the 1960s, including a running Colossus Mark II.
The honorary academician is mainly to recognize those who have made "outstanding contributions to computer history and sustainable development," and the Uptons have benefited millions of users by creating raspberry pie. "together, they have built a global community of programmers and created a vibrant global network of computing enthusiasts," the museum wrote in an announcement.
"Eben and I are delighted to accept this honorary title, and we are moved by the kind words of this passionate community," Liz Upton said. The National computer Museum has done such important work that we are happy to use our platform to emphasize the importance of its collection and educational mission.
CTOnews.com learned that the recognition of the couple will be held in Bletchley Park on December 3, 2022.
