Yang Hong, chief designer of China Space Station system, said at a professional forum on space solar power plants held today that China Space Station will provide on-orbit technical verification for future space solar power plants.

Yang Hong said that space solar power stations are one of the directions of green and new energy sources, but they are still facing many technical challenges, and individual key technological breakthroughs can be the focus of the next step.

CTOnews.com learned that China's Tiangong Space Station has completed the on-orbit assembly of the basic configuration of the third module T, which also indicates that China's space technology will enter a new stage and will reserve technology for China's follow-up space exploration.

According to reports, space solar power station has the advantages of clean and sustainable, strong light intensity, not affected by weather operations, and is an effective means of large-scale use of space solar energy. The Chinese space station can provide on-orbit verification support for this technology and contribute to the realization of carbon peak and carbon neutralization goals in our country.
