Microsoft Announces merger of Azure Virtual Desktop and Windows 365 Services
CTOnews.com, Nov. 23 (Xinhua)-- Microsoft has announced a merger of Azure Virtual Desktop and Windows 365 services, which will be handed over to 21-year-old Scott Manchester (Scott Manchester).
Scott ManchesterCTOnews.com has learned that Manchester has been the project management director of Windows 365 for nearly three years. Ten years ago, Manchester was the manager of Microsoft's Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) team and was responsible for promoting Azure Virtual Desktop.
The merger of the services is expected to accelerate the sales of Azure Virtual Desktop and Windows 365services. With Azure Virtual Desktop's sales on the rise, Microsoft thinks now is the perfect time to catch up with competitors such as Citrix and Vmware.
Azure Virtual Desktop director Cam Wade Blatter wrote on LinkedIn last Saturday that he is no longer leading the Azure Virtual Desktop team. "this week is my last day on the Azure Virtual Desktop team," he says.
