Data center and enterprise customers have recently begun adjusting their NAND flash inventories in response to component shortages and the global economic downturn.

The company said demand for NAND flash memory in consumer electronics devices, including PCs and mobile phones, has fallen sharply since the second quarter of 2022.

Kaixia reported that its shipments in the second quarter of 2022 fell more than 20% month-on-month, partly due to logistics stagnation caused by the epidemic, but revenue rose 11% month-on-month to 367.3 billion yen ($2.72 billion), mainly due to stable ASP during the period.

Operating income rose 175 percent quarter-on-quarter to 85.1 billion yen, thanks to a much lower base of comparison in the first quarter.
