Microsoft optimizes Win11 weather widgets for more accurate location

CTOnews.com, Aug. 13, according to Jen Gentleman of the Windows engineering team, Microsoft has done some work to improve the way Windows Widgets displays weather forecasts on the taskbar, and fixed problems with location detection.

For example, in the first half of this year, some netizens found that Microsoft used IP to check location information in weather widgets, while GPS was used as a standard in weather apps, so he thought the widget was almost useless.

According to reports, Microsoft recently updated the Windows Widgets design, which brings higher location accuracy.

In addition, when you use the weather widget now, you can see that Windows displays a location icon in the notification area, indicating that Windows Widgets is using your exact location to provide an accurate weather forecast.

CTOnews.com has reported that Microsoft has previously acknowledged the existence of Bug in Win11 weather readings and is currently working on fixing it.
