CTOnews.com, August 14 (Reuters)-the European Space Agency (ESA) has begun preliminary technical discussions with SpaceX, owned by Elon Musk, after the Russian rocket was blocked.

Reported that the above discussion may lead to the European Space Agency's temporary use of SpaceX launchers.

Josef Aschbacher, director of the European Space Agency, said the negotiations were still at an exploratory stage. "We are studying the compatibility of this technology, but we have not yet asked for a commercial offer. We just want to make sure that this will be an option in order to make a decision when asking for a confirmed commercial offer."

SpaceX didn't respond to a request for comment. Aschbacher stressed that any backup solution would be temporary, but said he was not worried about the future of the Ariane 6 rocket.

CTOnews.com learned that the data show that the Ariana 6 rocket is a low-cost carrier rocket suitable for carrying satellites weighing between 3 and 6.5tons.
