According to the news on the website of the US International Trade Commission (USITC) on the 16th, the US ITC has decided to launch a 337 investigation on specific mobile electronic devices.

It is reported that in June this year, Maxell, Ltd. File an application for investigation with the ITC of the United States, arguing that the product exported to, imported and sold in the United States infringes its patent right, and requests the ITC of the United States to issue a limited exclusion order and prohibition order. Lenovo Group Ltd., Lenovo (United States) Inc, Motorola Mobility LLC are listed defendants. The United States International Trade Commission will determine the closing date of the investigation within 45 days after filing the case. Except in the case of a veto by the United States Trade Representative for policy reasons, the relief order issued by the United States International Trade Commission in case 337 shall take effect from the date of publication and shall have final effect from the 60th day after the date of publication.

It is reported that the 337 investigation refers to the practice of the United States International Trade Commission to investigate unfair import practices and adopt sanctions in accordance with Section 337 of the 1930 Customs Act (referred to as Section 337). If the imported product infringes on the effective intellectual property rights of the United States, the intellectual property right holder (whether it is an American enterprise or a foreign enterprise) can file a 337 investigation application with ITC and ask ITC to take relevant relief measures.
