Xie Lijia, president of Boeing China: ready to resume delivery of 737 MAX aircraft from Zhoushan

At Boeing completion and delivery Center in Zhoushan, both sides are ready to carry out the completion and delivery of the 737 MAX aircraft.
Xie Lijia stressed that as Boeing celebrates its 50th anniversary in China, Boeing is striving for 737 MAX to gain as much single-aisle market share as possible and deliver them from Zhoushan. According to reports, Boeing now has 35 direct suppliers in China.
CTOnews.com learned that the Boeing 737 MAX8 plane had two previous crashes in Lion Airlines in Indonesia and Ethiopian Airlines. The investigation results show that the two accidents occurred when the Boeing 737-8 aircraft was in a state of manual flight and flaps were closed, and the wrong high angle of attack input repeatedly activated the maneuvering characteristic Enhancement system (MCAS,Maneuvering Characteristics Augmentation System), resulting in repeated bow leveling of the horizontal stability surface. Under the interference of multiple alarms, the flight crew can not effectively identify the location fault and take measures, resulting in the aircraft out of control.
At the end of 2021, the Civil Aviation Administration of China issued an airworthiness directive for correcting the unsafe state of MCAS on the Boeing 737 MAX, confirming the relevant corrective measures of MCAS to eliminate the unsafe state.
In order to solve the unsafe state, Boeing initiated the design changes of flight control system software and display system software. After a comprehensive evaluation of the relevant corrective measures submitted by Boeing, such as the design change of the flight control system software, the design change of the display system, the revision of the aircraft flight manual, and the change in the laying of the water safety leveling line bundle, etc. Confirm that the relevant corrective measures can eliminate the above unsafe state.
The Boeing 737 MAX series contains four models of 7-10, with a maximum of 230 passengers of different lengths. This series of aircraft is equipped with LEAP-1B engines and is more efficient than previous models. The new leaflet design of the aircraft wingtip can provide greater lift while reducing the width of the wing.
