CTOnews.com, August 18, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that the new cars produced by Tesla in the first half of each quarter are mainly for export, while more in the second half will be put into the local market.

CTOnews.com has reported that Tesla delivered 936200 vehicles worldwide in 2021, of which Tesla delivered 484100 vehicles in China, meaning that the Shanghai super factory contributed more than 50 per cent of production.

It is worth mentioning that last month, Tesla also released the company's financial results for the second quarter of fiscal year 2022, and revealed that the Shanghai super factory had recently upgraded its production capacity, with an annual capacity of more than 750000 vehicles. Tesla is currently the super factory with the highest capacity.

Earlier, it was revealed that the renovation of Tesla's Shanghai super factory in July was scheduled to be completed on August 7, and that it would be able to produce 14000 Model Y cars and about 7700 Model 3 cars per week.

With the return of Tesla's Shanghai super factory to three shifts, the daily production of Model 3 can reach 1000-1200 vehicles, while the production of Model Y, which has completed the transformation, will climb to 2000 vehicles per day, which will reach about 2200 vehicles per day from August, and the total production capacity of the whole line will be increased by up to 36 per cent.

Based on the daily production capacity after the completion of the transformation, the annual production capacity of the Shanghai super factory will be expanded to about 1.1 million-1.2 million vehicles, or 550000-600000 vehicles in half a year, which can easily complete this year's production task (if there are not too many uncontrollable factors).
