Samsung Electronics has two semiconductor subsidiaries in China, which are located in Xi'an and Shanghai.

South Korean media reported that Samsung Electronics released the annual report of its semiconductor business unit on Thursday local time. The report shows that their semiconductor company in Xi'an had revenue of 4.86 trillion won in the first half of this year, up 54.8% from a year earlier, but its net profit of 321.64 billion won was less than half of 766.651 billion won in the same period last year, down 58.1% from a year earlier.

Samsung Electronics' Shanghai-based semiconductor company, which mainly sells semiconductors and panels, posted a net profit of 138.26 billion won in the first half, down from 175.73 billion in the same period last year, down 21% from a year earlier. Sales were also lower than in the same period last year, falling 13.6% to 1.3 trillion won.

SK Hynix's domestic semiconductor company, which mainly produces DRAM, posted a net loss of 276.59 billion won in the first half of the year, an increase compared with the same period last year.
