Large Galaxy Z Fold4, Samsung granted a patent for a foldable notebook

CTOnews.com, Nov. 24 (Xinhua)-- with the success of two collapsible phones, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4, Samsung is expected to further expand its collapsible devices, and the next target is a foldable laptop. Citing foreign technology media 91Mobile, Samsung has been granted a related technology patent, which looks like an enlarged version of Galaxy Z Fold 4.

CTOnews.com learned that the patent is similar to the Galaxy Book Fold 17 unveiled by Samsung at the 2021 SID conference, but is slimmer in aspect ratio and looks like a super-large version of Galaxy Z Fold 4. The technology was announced this week, but the application was made several years ago, suggesting that Samsung had such an idea a long time ago.

As for the concept of a foldable laptop, this design is conducive to flexibility, graphically speaking. The lower half of the device's display is basically used for the ribbon, including virtual keyboard to other types of input, color wheels for photo editing applications, and buttons and knobs for music authoring software.
