Hainan: Haiwen Section of the Quantum Network around the Island and Wenchang Quantum Satellite ground Station put into operation

CTOnews.com, November 24, according to Hainan Daily, the section of Hainan's "satellite-earth integration" quantum network around the island (Haikou-Wenchang) and the "Wenchang International Space City Quantum Satellite Earth Station" have recently been completed and put into operation, which will provide an independent and controllable security guarantee for the cross-regional and cross-border data flow of Hainan Free Trade Port.

The Haiwen section of the quantum network around the island has been included in the construction of the "National wide area Quantum secure Communication backbone Network". The national quantum backbone network is constructed and operated by Guoke Quantum Communication Network Co., Ltd., which has been opened at present. It covers important national strategic areas such as Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Yangtze River Delta, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area and Chengdu-Chongqing Shuangcheng Economic Circle.

CTOnews.com has learned that the national quantum backbone network covers important national strategic areas such as Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Yangtze River Delta, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area, Chengdu-Chongqing Shuangcheng Economic Circle, with a total mileage of more than 10000 kilometers, making it the first and only large-scale wide-area quantum network in the world.
