CTOnews.com, November 24 (Xinhua) according to the release of the Yangtze River Delta Railway, the newly added catenary of the Ningbo station renovation project recently began to transmit electricity, marking new progress in the construction of the third and fourth lines between Zhuangqiao and Ningbo, the Ningbo hub.

The construction of the third and fourth lines from Zhuangqiao to Ningbo, the Ningbo hub, is located in the southwest of Ningbo City. The line is drawn from the Zhuangqiao Station of the existing Xiao-Ningbo Railway, crosses the Yuyaojiang River on the right side of the existing railway, passes through Jiangbei District and Haishu District of Ningbo City, and ends at Ningbo Station. CTOnews.com learned that the line, with a total length of about 7.4km and a design speed of 120km per hour, will link up with the Xiao-Ningbo Railway, the Hangzhou-Ningbo High-speed Railway and the Yong-Tai-Wen Railway.

The construction of the third and fourth lines in Ningbo-Zhuangqiao section of Ningbo hub is an important part of Hangzhou-Ningbo Corridor. The construction of the project will effectively alleviate the shortage of railway capacity in the Ningbo-Zhuangqiao section of the Ningbo hub. After it is completed and opened to traffic, the train traffic between Ningbo Station and Zhuangqiao Station will be smoother, and Ningbo Station will also have the ability to operate more trains.

At present, the new turnout, line and catenary at the uplink end of the project have been basically paved and are about to enter the stage of line dialing, tamping and interlocking equipment commissioning.
