Qualcomm has partnered with Linaro engineers to release Linux kernel patches for Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. According to Linaro's blog, current patch support includes Kryo CPU (including power management / DVFS), system basic support, high-speed I / O, high-density storage, PCIe and USB, and Qualcomm Hexagon bits for audio / sensor / computing / modem.

However, the Linux kernel has not been fully adapted, and it is expected that subsequent patches will soon solve the functional problems of display, audio and modems and be successfully integrated into the mainline.

CTOnews.com learned that Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 uses the 4nm process and is a new 1 / 2 / 2 / 3 architecture, including a main frequency 3.2GHz Cortex-X3-based Kryo super core, four 2.8GHz performance cores (2 × Cortex A715 + 2 × Cortex A710) and three 2.0GHz Cortex-A510 energy efficiency cores. With these patches, you can start running the Android open source project (AOSP) on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 development platform.
