Sources say Airbus may postpone the delivery of some aircraft in 2023

CTOnews.com, Nov. 27, according to Reuters, Airbus is preparing to further delay the delivery of some medium-range aircraft in 2023, according to three industry sources. Despite supply chain and labor problems, the company is still working to meet its 2022 delivery target.

People familiar with the matter added that double the speed had been taken because of continued uncertainty in the supply of engines and other parts and labour needed for the production of new aircraft.

CTOnews.com learned that an Airbus spokesman said the company would not comment on delivery until its next monthly announcement in early December.

Analysts point out that the aerospace industry is trying to deal with a series of simultaneous problems with multiple knock-on effects.

In July, Airbus said it would meet its medium-term production target of 65 A320 narrow-body jets a month by early 2024, rather than in the summer of 2023. The target for 2025 is 75 per month.
