Musk responded to the query from the non-Tesla founder: I not only paid for it, but also the person in charge of the original Roadster product.

CTOnews.com Elon Musk recently tweeted that he was the product head of the original Tesla Roadster and led its design in response to a misleading statement on Twitter.

Twitter user Broe tweeted: "Remind Musk diehard fans that these are the outstanding people who founded Tesla. Elon was just a buy-in Series A investor, then did enough damage to the company until these people were pushed out, and then he spent a decade telling everyone he founded Tesla. "。His tweet was accompanied by a photo of Tesla's two co-founders, which read: "This is a photo of Mark Tappenning and Martin Eberhard. They created Tesla, just in case you thought it was someone else. "

In response to the tweet, user @SamTwits said,"This is so misleading. Elon Musk invested almost all of Series A's money. At the time, Tesla was just a name and three people without money who had just registered the company six months earlier. "

Elon Musk responded to @SamTwits tweets, saying he was the product head of the original Roadster and led its design. "Eberhard is rich, he can risk his own money, but he doesn't want to do it," Elon Musk said. "The Art Center School of Design gave me an honorary degree for my work on the original Tesla Roadster," he added.

Elon Musk also noted that he acquired a trademark using Tesla Motors as the initial name, and later he also acquired the website Tesla.com

Tesla was incorporated in 2003 by Eberhard and Tarpenning. In 2004, Tesla raised $7.5 million in Series A funding, of which $6.5 million came from Elon Musk. Ian Wright joined Tesla a few months after it was founded, J.B. Strauble joined in 2004.

CTOnews.com has learned that in a lawsuit settlement reached between Eberhard and Tesla in 2009, all five of those individuals, including Elon Musk, were allowed to call themselves Tesla co-founders.
