CTOnews.com November 28 news, Strategy Analytics today released a report said, In the third quarter of 2022, TSMC foundry (excluding Samsung) operating profit share of 82%, Up from 80% in the second quarter. This was the company's highest operating margin since 1996.

▲ Source: Strategy Analytics report points out that GlobalFoundries 'share of operating profit increased the most. Most foundries seem to be chasing higher ASP (average selling price) rather than volume, which drives steady profit growth.

CTOnews.com understands that TSMC's revenue in the third quarter of this year was $20.23 billion (about 145.049 billion yuan). During the reporting period, TSMC's 5nm shipments accounted for 28% of total wafer revenue; 7nm shipments accounted for 26%; and 7nm and higher processes accounted for 54% of total wafer revenue.

In addition, Strategy Analytics data shows that Q3 TSMC foundry revenue exceeds $20 billion (about 140.8 billion yuan), exceeding the sum of all other manufacturers (including Samsung). All major foundries achieved double-digit revenue growth.
