Guangdong has built more than 210,000 5G base stations, ranking first in the country.

According to CTOnews.com news on November 28, the 47th meeting of the standing Committee of the 13th Guangdong Provincial people's Congress was held in Guangzhou today.

According to Chinanews.com, the people's Government of Guangdong Province pointed out that Guangdong Province has vigorously promoted the construction of new information infrastructure such as 5G network, data center and industrial Internet, laying a solid foundation for digital transformation, and built a total of more than 210,000 5G base stations, the largest number in the country.

According to data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, by the end of October, the total number of 5G base stations in China had reached 2.25 million, accounting for 20.9% of the total number of mobile base stations; the number of 5G base stations in eastern, central, western and northeast regions reached 1.081 million, 482000, 547000 and 140000 respectively, accounting for 23.1%, 20.4%, 18.1% and 19.7% of the total number of mobile phone base stations in this region, respectively.

CTOnews.com learned that by the end of October, the total number of mobile phone users of the three basic telecom companies had reached 1.682 billion. Among them, 5G mobile phone users reached 524 million, accounting for 31.1% of mobile phone users.
