CTOnews.com, November 29, the Open Source firmware Foundation (Open-Source Firmware Foundation) was established earlier this year to promote the development of open source firmware. The Coreboot project announced today that it has officially joined the Open Source firmware Foundation.

CTOnews.com learned that the Open Source firmware Foundation was co-founded by 9elements Cyber Security and Mullvad VPN as a non-profit and mutually beneficial company in Oregon.

Since its inception, the Open Source firmware Foundation has been trying to call on Intel to open source FSP, but it has not yet been recognized by Intel. LinuxBoot officially joined the Open Source firmware Foundation this summer. The Coreboot project was officially announced as a member of the Open Source firmware Foundation before Christmas.
