CTOnews.com, Nov. 30 (Xinhua)-- Apple announced today that Slate's narrative podcast series "Slow Burn" has won the first-ever Apple Podcast of the year Award.

Apple said the podcast won in recognition of its latest season of "Roe v. Wade," in which Susan Matthews, executive editor of Slate, discussed the causes and consequences of the 1973 Supreme Court landmark decision. The four-part mini podcast was released in June and won an award for "excellent quality, Innovation and impact."

CTOnews.com learned that the trophy is made of 100% recycled aluminum, with an Apple Podcasts app icon on the front and the winner's name on the back, which looks very similar to the App Store awards awarded since 2020. Apple said the award represented its "decades-long commitment to supporting creators by sharing their voices with the world and helping listeners find the best podcasts."
