CTOnews.com November 30 news, TrendForce Jibang Consulting released a report today that with the gradual increase of OLED panels in mobile applications, the penetration rate of mobile phones using OLED panels is expected to be about 47.7% in 2022 and 50.8% in 2023, and is expected to exceed 60% in 2026.

Photo Source: the TrendForce Jibang Consulting report points out that other mobile phone brands have begun to expand the introduction of OLED panels in high-end models, driven by the introduction of OLED panels on Apple's full range of iPhone 12 phones in 2020. At present, Apple phones only SE series still stay in the LCD panel, major series of phones have adopted OLED panel; Samsung phones also use more than half of the OLED panel; Xiaomi, OPPO, vivo phones have 3-4% of models using OLED panel, and except for the strategy of focusing on low-cost phones in the African market, the import proportion of OLED panel is relatively low, other brands plan to expand the use.

CTOnews.com has learned that TrendForce Group Consulting estimates that about 12.8 million folding phones using OLED panels will be sold in 2022, with a penetration rate of about 1.1 per cent. With major brands regularly launching upgraded models every year, sales of folding phones are expected to reach 18.5 million in 2023, with a penetration rate of about 1.5 per cent. In addition, the report says OLED panels are expected to continue to improve gradually in mobile applications in 2023.
