Twitter "Blue V" is going to jump again: this time to avoid apple tax

After Musk's successful acquisition of Twitter, he launched a $7.99 monthly Twitter Blue subscription service in the iPhone app earlier this month, which allows users to buy a "Blue V" certification to prevent some users from passing off well-known brands or celebrities.

But for security reasons, Twitter shut down the service a day later. Subsequently, Musk said the service would be relaunched on November 29, but was later postponed to December 2. The latest news suggests that Twitter Blue will be delayed again, this time to avoid a 30 per cent share of the Apple App Store.

As we all know, Musk has had a bad time with Apple these days. Musk fired shots at Apple on Monday in a series of tweets, expressing dissatisfaction with Apple's censorship, saying that Apple had not only cut back on ads on Twitter, but also threatened to remove Twitter from its app store.

At the same time, Musk also complained about Apple's "apple tax" of up to 30%. One of Musk's tweets included a picture showing a car marked with his name (Musk) suddenly turning into a highway ramp pointing to "war" instead of continuing in the direction of "paying 30%".

But a few hours later, Musk deleted the tweet. A few days ago, Musk said that if Apple and Google moved Twitter out of the app store, he might consider developing a new phone to challenge iPhone.

Today's report also says that when Twitter finally launches Twitter Blue, it may be different from what Musk had envisioned. For example, it will not be available as an in-app purchase on iOS (avoiding a 30% cut), and you need to verify the user's mobile phone number, and so on. In addition, the subscription price will be changed directly from $7.99 to $8.
