Twitter dispute is expected to ease, Musk meets with Apple CEO Tim Cook at Apple Park
CTOnews.com, December 1, citing an updated tweet from Elon Musk, the current Twitter CEO visited Apple's headquarters at Apple Park today to meet with Apple CEO Tim Cook on the Twitter dispute.
CTOnews.com learned that Musk thanked Cook for showing him around Apple headquarters in his tweet, but did not mention what the two men might discuss. Before the meeting, Musk said on Monday that Apple had "basically stopped" advertising on Twitter and that Apple had threatened to expel Twitter from App Store.
Musk said Apple has been "asking for restrictions," but it is not clear what exactly Apple has asked for. Twitter has been undergoing rapid changes since Mr Musk took over in October, with many of the staff responsible for auditing and policy making being fired or leaving the company.
Apple has tightened its censorship policy on social media apps, and Musk could get into a major dispute with Apple if he mishandles the Twitter issue. Twitter has restored 62000 suspended accounts, including the accounts of former US President Donald Trump, and new problems could be brewing.
