CTOnews.com, Dec. 1 (Xinhua) Amazon said on Wednesday local time that the five-day holiday shopping season from Thanksgiving to Cyber Monday was the largest in history, with consumers buying hundreds of millions of items during that time, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Amazon says home, fashion, toys, makeup and Amazon devices are the best-selling categories, while Echo Dot, Fire TV Stick and Apple AirPods are the best-selling items.

In addition, other best-selling items include Hasbro Gaming Connect 4, Burt's Bee Christmas gifts, Champion brand clothing, and New Balance brand clothing and shoes.

CTOnews.com learned that Amazon shares were up 4.46% at $96.54 as of today's close, with a total market capitalization of $984.868 billion (about 6.97 trillion yuan).

Amazon reported third-quarter net sales of $127.101 billion (about 910.043 billion yuan), up 15% from a year earlier, and net profit of $2.872 billion (about 20.564 billion yuan), down 9% from a year earlier.
