CTOnews.com, December 1 (Xinhua)-- according to the latest Strategy Analytics forecast, global smartphone shipments will fall by 10% in 2022 compared with the same period last year. The decline will continue into 2023, but will increase to a year-on-year decline of 5 per cent. Global smartphone shipments will be the lowest since 2014. This is a very difficult time for the whole industry.

Strategy Analytics weighs a number of dynamic factors / assumptions based on the latest forecasting model, including supply chain disruptions, ongoing inventory adjustments across the industry, geopolitical issues, and a bleak macroeconomic outlook.

Samsung and Apple will remain in the top two during the forecast window, with an increase in market share, the report said. Both will outperform the overall market this year and next year. By contrast, companies such as Xiaomi, OPPO (including one plus) and vivo will underperform the overall market and enter a downward trajectory in 2022 and 2023.

CTOnews.com has learned that among Android phone players, only Google and Reliance Jio will see solid growth in 2023, mainly due to the low base effect.
