CTOnews.com, December 2 (Xinhua)-- Microsoft provided more information to IT professionals on the integration of Windows Package Manager and Microsoft Intune integration on Wednesday and will distribute applications through a new "Microsoft Store" in the future.

CTOnews.com learned that Microsoft announced in July that two app stores, Microsoft Store for Business and Microsoft Store for Education, would be closed "in the first quarter of 2023." For companies that still use these two application distribution solutions, subsequent adjustments are detailed in the "Microsoft Mechanics" video in the new blog post.

Microsoft hopes that IT professionals will use Windows Package Manager, Microsoft Intune or other "unified terminal management" solutions to further improve the efficiency of enterprise application distribution in conjunction with the "new Microsoft Store".

Enterprises can also use Windows Package Manager through the "winget" command line interface. Enterprise users can use Winget for free, but it is only used as a stand-alone tool when enterprises distribute free applications.

Using Intune or other unified endpoint solutions that include Windows Package Manager, Microsoft has added a graphical user interface to distribute applications. This is more user-friendly.
