Samsung's supplier list change in 2022: BOE was removed, Shunyu Optics / KH Vatec was newly added
On December 2, according to foreign media reports, Samsung has removed BOE from its 2022 supplier list.
Recently, Samsung Electronics announced a list of suppliers for 2022. Jingdong, Japan's Alps Electric, Nitto Electric and Roma were not on the list, while Shun Yu Optics, SDC subsidiary Semes, Samsung Group subsidiaries Hansol Technics, KH Vatec and Simmtech were added to the list.
BOE, one of the main suppliers of AMOLED displays for Samsung's mid-and low-end Galaxy devices and some smart TVs, was on Samsung's supplier list in 2020, but is now clearly absent. Samsung appears to have removed BOE from its supply chain because of a recent royalty dispute, the report said.
Japan's Alps Electric, Nitto Electric and Roma were also on Samsung's list of suppliers in 2020, but are not on the list in 2022.
Shunyu Optics, a new Samsung supplier, is a supplier of mobile lens and camera modules, which provide lenses and camera modules used in Samsung smartphones. It will provide two rear camera modules for Samsung's Galaxy S23 Ultra to be launched next year.
According to foreign media reports, the newly added KH Vatec provides hinges for foldable mobile phones, while Simmtech produces semiconductor substrates.
