CTOnews.com, December 3 (Xinhua)-- Google recently announced a number of new features to be released during the Christmas holiday, including the introduction of a new Reading Mode for Android phones / tablets, a new Tiles for Wear OS, and so on.

Reading Mode

CTOnews.com learned that Google said it was "a barrier-free reading experience" for the blind, low vision or dyslexia. This feature allows users to adjust font, size, line spacing, and background color, and supports switching between dark and light modes.

The mode also supports speed and voice-controlled text-to-speech functions. Reading Mode can download applications through the Google Play Store, and this mode can be enabled on Android 9.0 or later devices.

Simplify the operation of screen casting

Google simplifies the screen operation, allowing users to drop the screen directly to smart TVs such as Android TV or Google TV through the Google TV app.

You can share digital car keys with friends or family members.

You can also see and change who can use your car in your phone's digital wallet app. This feature is currently available on Google Pixel devices and iPhone and will soon be available to specific phones running Android 12 or later.

Google Photos

The app will now adopt a new collage style designed by Australian couple vision group DABSMYLA and famous watercolor artist Yao Cheng. To use this feature, select your photo, select a design, and rearrange your layout by dragging and dropping the image.

3 new Tiles added to Wear OS

Google says it has introduced three new Tiles:Favorite Contacts, Sunrise Time and Sunset Time for Wear OS smartwatches. Favorite Contacts serves all users, while the latter two showing sunrise and sunset are not very useful to the average user, but may provide some help to photographers, athletes and people who enjoy outdoor activities.
