CTOnews.com learned that in previous versions of Chrome OS, if users wanted to delete a file, they would pop up a "Are you sure you want to delete this file" prompt box, and users could click "Cancel" to cancel the deletion operation. However, once the "Delete" button is clicked, the file will be completely deleted and the user cannot recover it later.

In Chrome OS 108, Google finally optimized the Recycle Bin mechanism. Files that users click to delete move to a folder called Trash, which features a trash can icon at the bottom of the left sidebar.

Google says files in the Trash folder older than 30 days will be automatically deleted, and users can click the "Empty trash now" button at any time to empty the trash, or click "Restore from trash" in the upper right corner to restore a file.
