CTOnews.com news on December 3, Apple has recently been Geoscope Technologies Pte. Ltd alleges that it infringed six patents related to geolocation services for mobile devices. The company believes that the iPhone and Apple Watch devices are the main infringements of its intellectual property rights.

CTOnews.com learned that Geoscope is a Singaporean company registered in the Federal State of Virginia in the United States. The company said the original inventors of the six technology patents would testify in court.

Location-based services refer to software services that use geographic data to provide information to users or perform other functions for users according to their location. Location-based services include maps, navigation services (such as driving guides), local searches (such as finding nearby restaurants), social networks, targeted advertising, and so on.

The company wrote in the lawsuit:

Apple has recognized the importance and benefits of location-based services. For example, an Apple website describes Apple's location services by saying that "location services allow Apple and third-party applications and websites to collect and use information based on the current location of your iPhone or Apple Watch to provide a variety of location-based services."

For example, an application may use your location data and location search queries to help you find a nearby coffee shop or theater, or your device may automatically set its time zone based on your current location.
