CTOnews.com, December 4, the latest data from the Shanghai Municipal Communications Administration show that the total number of base stations and the number of users have maintained a steady growth from January to October 2022.

Specifically, from January to October, Shanghai's cumulative fixed asset investment was 8.59 billion yuan, an increase of 16.8% over the same period last year. Among them, 5G invested 3.08 billion yuan, and 5G accounted for 35.9% of the total investment in the industry. A total of 68000 5G base stations have been built by the three basic telecommunications enterprises, 1750 more than at the end of last month.

CTOnews.com learned that according to data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, by the end of October, the total number of 5G base stations in China had reached 2.25 million, accounting for 20.9% of the total mobile base stations; the number of 5G base stations in the eastern, central, western and northeast regions reached 1.081 million, 482000, 547000 and 140000 respectively, accounting for 23.1%, 20.4%, 18.1% and 19.7% of the total number of mobile phone base stations in the region, respectively.

In addition, the total number of mobile phone subscribers of the three basic telecommunications companies reached 1.682 billion by the end of October. Among them, 5G mobile phone users reached 524 million, accounting for 31.1% of mobile phone users.
